Walks around La Chapelle and the Chablais Mountains of the Swiss & French Alps reveal ever changing scenery, dark forests, open meadows and amazing panoramic views of local peaks as well as Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and the Dents du Midi. It is not unusual to come across wildlife too: Chamois deer, bouquetin, buzzards and eagles. Waterfalls and rivers pop up all over the place, and the tranquility of the lakes allows time to relax. There is so much to explore here.
Purpose built tracks.
The Abondance valley and its many peaks have a network of signposted walks. These signs give you a guide to the time it will take to reach the different destinations they direct you to. These destinations are anything from one hour away to a whole day or even an overnight stay in one of the many refuges that are located in the high pastures.
There are a number of themed paths including: The Water path; The Birds path or The Morclan path, taking you on a journey as well as an education into your surroundings with informative signs.
