The opportunities for mountain biking and road cycling here are endless
There are marked paths to follow in the valley and up in to the mountains, for varying degrees of off-road cycling whilst discovering the beauty of the Alps.
The 24 bike friendly Portes du Soleil chairlifts and the Super Chatel gondola are open through the summer to give you access to 650km of marked tracks and 4 bike parks including Pre-la-Joux's Bike park and Chatel's permanent downhill trail.
This trail, 2.7km long, passes through both woodland and meadows, with a vertical drop of 450m equipped with bumps, jumps, banked turns and natural obstacles. There are two courses for different abilities - blue and black (Dange 'H' designed by Sebastien Giraldi). Both trails end in a 250m X cross.
In Pre-la-Joux there are 13 downhill courses: 2 green runs; 4 blues (one with bridges, see-saw etc.) 2 reds and 5 blacks. A green cross-country circuit runs along the banks of River Dranse, is free and needs no chairlift.
